Last night I said goodbye to the junior high kids I’ve been leading worship for (and with) for the last three years. They are the coolest humans I have ever met. Needless to say it was like an endless stream of tears the whole time. Duh.
I mean shoot, I’d like to meet the robot who wouldn’t cry while being ambushed with love and encouragement from a horde of kids that’s been their family for three years.
Because I’m still recovering from that, I’d like to talk about a universe-rocking thing that happened last week.
So I’ve got a dad and he’s the best. I mean really the best. I know you’re thinking, “Well, hey my dad is pretty cool,” but the reality is my dad is the actual best. And throughout these last few years (which were trying even before the health issues) I’ve noticed my dad has this freaky ability to always text me just the right thing at just the right time.
Last week after a really long day, he happened to send me one message that changed my entire outlook on my upcoming summer of recovery and potentially no friends and probably boredom.
It was just the title of an article and the corresponding link:
“‘X-Files’ officially returning to Fox in Summer 2015”
Guys, Jesus is real.
(If you know me, you understand why I’m stoke-level midnight. If you don’t, well, I’m sure you can put 2 & 2 together. If not, you might want to consider tutoring.)
On top of that, this news solidifies my previously established desire to name my future awesome puppy Fox Mulder. Here’s the deal. Sometimes it’s the little things that really getcha.
